Adam N. Beach, 77, 205 E. Butler St., Fort Recovery, died of emphysema at 11:40 a.m. Aug. 2, 2006, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born June 12, 1929, in Fort Recovery, to Arden and Jessie Nicholas Beach.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Mark (Jennifer), Greenville; a daughter, Susan Beach, Portsmouth; a sister, Libby (Dr, Frank) Batsche, Mason; and three grandchildren.
He was an account executive for P.W. Minor Shoe Co. and was the owner and operator of the former Beach Shoe Store and Beach's Village Squire, both of Fort Recovery. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korea Conflict. He was a 1947 graduate of Fort Recovery High School and of Miami University, Oxford. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Fort Recovery.
He also was a member of Veterans of Foreign War Post 6515, American Legion Post 345, Free & Accepted Masons Lodge 539 and Order of Eastern Star Chapter 111, Chamber of Commerce and the Historical Society, all of Fort Recovery.
He was also a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton; York Rite (Chapter, Council & Commandery), Antioch Shrine Temple, Dayton; Jay County Historical Society, Ohio Historical Society, the Miami University Alumni Association, and was a Fort Recovery Hall of Fame member.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Douglas Meyer officiating. Burial is at Greenmound Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
