Betty Niekamp
Betty J. Niekamp, 79, of Stevens Point, Wisc., died Dec. 2, 2006, at St. Michael's Hospital, Stevens Point.
She was born Sept. 29, 1927, in Stevens Point, to Walter and Mary Lepak Dzikoski. On July 30, 1949, she married Bernard Zakrzewski, who died Feb. 13, 1999. On April 13, 2002, she married Paul Niekamp, who survives.
Also surviving are son, Michael (Cathy) Zakrzewski, Woodbury Minn.; nine stepsons, Mike (Barb), Paul Jr. (Judy), and Joe (Cheryl), all of St. Henry, Tom (Janis), Centerville, Patrick (Mary), Fort Recovery, Ron (Doris), Findlay, Bob (Ginny), Shantytown, Wisc., John (Becky), Stevens Point Wisc., and Tim (Debbie), Palmer, Alaska; a sister, Corky (Stanley) Cychosz, Stevens Point; a brother, Eugene (Sylvia) Dzikoski, Madison, Wisc.; two grandchildren, 42 step-grandchildren and 19 step-great-grandchildren.
She worked at Sentry Insurance as a group health supervisor retiring in 1987. She graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School, Stevens Point, and attended business college. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Rosary Society and Catholic Women's Club, also Stevens Point.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, Stevens Point, the Rev. Dennis Stanchik officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Guardian Angel Cemetery, Stevens Point.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, Stevens Point, and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. St. Stanislaus Rosary Society will combine with the Catholic Women's Club for general rosary at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
