Tropics in St. Marys?
local picture
Hhhmmm, could these be basjoos or sikkimensises? Whatever the variety they're banana plants growing in Rick and Donna Moon's yard in St. Marys. Acquired about nine years ago, the plants have thrived in this summer's heat. However, it's "yes, we have no bananas" at least not yet. The plants are taken to the basement for the winter where they go dormant awaiting another planting in the spring. Above, Donna stands with three of the Moons' four plants.
