Two Auglaize County teens were injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred at 2:11 p.m. Friday in Shelby County.
Jeanette Fleagle, 18, of St. Marys, was driving a 1995 Ford Contour eastbound on Kirkwood Road at the intersection of County Road 25A, south of Sidney. She reportedly drove into the path of a northbound 1990 Chevy Lumina driven by Trent Stearns, 20, of Sidney.
A CareFlight emergency helicopter based in Urbana responded to the scene and transported Fleagle's brother, 16-year-old Jason Fleagle of St. Marys, to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. He initially was listed in serious condition but a hospital spokeswoman reported he had been dismissed Saturday. She did not know whether the dismissal was to his home or another medical facility.
Jeanette Fleagle was taken by ambulance to Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney, where she was treated then released.
Neither Stearns nor his passenger, 26-year-old Brandon Lee of Sidney, were injured.
In addition to Shelby County Sheriff's deputies, others responding to the scene included Lockington Fire Department and Houston Rescue Squad.
The accident remains under investigation.
