Harold Martens
Harold C. Martens, 84, 6199 U.S. 127, Celina, died at 8 p.m. Dec. 2, 2008, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton.
He was born Sept. 10, 1924, in Celina, to Herman C. and Clara Pearl West Martens. On Aug. 22, 1964, he married Marcella R. "Marcie" Stafford, who died April 27, 1997.
Surviving are a brother, Robert (Diane), Celina, and a sister, Carol (John) Crouch, Tipp City.
Deceased are a brother and sister-in-law, Herman "Junior" and Bonnie.
He worked for the former Dry Gas Company of Celina, and later owned and operated Marten's Greenhouse, Celina. He is a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, all in Celina, and was a member of Patton's Army 3rd Armored Division, serving in France and Germany.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Paul Baglien officiating. Burial is at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 2-6 p.m. Friday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina.
