John Moorman
  John B. Moorman Sr., 68, 237 N. Spruce St., St. Marys, died at 11:28 a.m. May 9, 2009, at St. Ritas Medical Center, Lima.
He was born March 18, 1941, in North Star to John and Alvina Schmalstig Moorman. On Sept. 10, 1965, he married Darlene J. Castle, who survives.
Other survivors are six children, Dawn (John) Kern, Dianna (Dan) Jolly, Darla Moorman and Lela (Bruce) Jones, all of Sidney, Deanna (Dan) Gates and John B. (Mary) Moorman Jr., all of St. Marys; three brothers, George and Jerry Moorman, both of Sidney, and Donald Moorman, Fort Loramie; two sisters, Mary Jane Sherman, Sidney, and Patricia Moorman, Greenville; 26 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Kenny and Dicky Moorman; and two sisters, Barbara and Alice Moorman.
He retired from Hobart Corporation, Troy, where he had been a sheet metal specialist. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and the American Legion, all in Sidney. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Vietnam War.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Anthony Cutcher officiating. Private family burial will be held. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars at the funeral home.
Calling is noon until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
