A car remains partially submerged in floodwaters near Willshire after a 23-year-old Rockford woman drove around a roadclosed sign and attempted to navigate high water on Harner Road about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. The car reportedly stalled out. Samantha Ridder, who told rescuers she was 5 months pregnant, was removed from the vehicle by firefighters via a utility pickup truck and reportedly was in good condition. Van Wert County Sheriff's deputies cited her for driving on a closed road; she faces a $110 fine and court costs. Sheriff's Deputy Brian Ellerbrock warned motorists to heed the high water warnings and never attempt to drive on flooded roadways.
