John Lunz
John M. "Jack" Lunz, 75, St. Marys, died at 4:40 a.m. June 1, 2011, at Lima Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born June 3, 1935, in Dayton to Alvin E. and Cora Myers Lunz. On Sept. 22, 1961, he married Sally Silvers, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, John E. (Jennifer) Lunz and David (Melissa) Lunz, all of St. Marys; a sister, Dorothy Stockweather, Wellsboro, Pa.; and three grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Herbert, Charles and Eugene Lunz; and two sisters, Mary Grissom and Betty Rensch.
A 1953 graduate of Blume High School, Wapakoneta, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean Conflcit. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, St. Marys, after 29 years of service. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9289, St. Marys, and also a member of the Tri-County Coin Club. He was a member of the First Friends Church, St. Marys.
Service is 7:30 p.m. today at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Charles Richtmyer officiating. Private family burial rites will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 and 5:30-7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to the Tri-County Coin Club.
