Dick Beougher of Celina stops to check out a ribbon placed recently on a fence near the Veterans' Memorial, at the corner of South Main and Logan streets in Celina. A banner was placed above the fence Thursday to encourage public support for our local servicemen and women by tying ribbons of any kind on the fence in their honor. The idea for the project came from the Mercer County Veteran's Office, according to Service Officer Tom Risch. "I hope we can fill it up with ribbons, and if we do, I'll build another one. This will be up until (the troops) come back home," Risch said.
