Mercer County judges Mark V. Klosterman, Mary Pat Zitter and Jeffrey Ingraham presided over a special bicentennial court session Wednesday in the Probate/Juvenile courtroom. Guests included elected officials, attorneys, 13 students and parents who learned they were joining similar court sessions in 50 Ohio counties as well as the Supreme Court of Ohio's special session in Chillicothe, the state's first capital. Topics concerned Ohio's heritage based on the role of lawyers and judges. Above, Assistant Prosecutor Amy Ikerd helps Fort Recovery first-grader Chase Staugler with a word in his speech. Other students who participated include: Kirstie Everman, Jerica Brunswick, Abby Brunswick and Kaitlyn Filadelfo of St. Henry; Bethany Spangler of Coldwater; Brady Bader of Celina; Adam Schulze of Marion Local; Cindy Zitter, Jared Staugler, Tommy Staugler of Fort Recovery; Alexis Bates and Taylor Bates of Parkway.
