| Bill Smith, owner of the new River Trail Campground in Mendon, looks out over his 54-acre spread on the northeast edge of Mendon. The campground has opened for business with more than 50 available sites with utilities hookups. Eventually, the campground is slated to have 225 sites suitable for weekend or permanent camping. The campground already has a playground, sandy beach on a 2.25-acre stocked pond, walking trails along the winding St. Marys River and a commissary with snacks and camping supplies located in the house that sits on the site. The campground is located on Deep Cut Road just off Ohio 707. |
