Smoking debris remains where once a 480-foot-long hog barn stood at 1001 Ohio 29, west of Celina. Fire swept through the structure owned by Rick Kremer of Ansonia shortly before 7 p.m. Monday, killing nearly 2,000 feeder pigs. Firefighters and neighbors managed to save another 1,300 to 1,500 pigs. The $500,000 loss figure does not include the value of the dead animals owned by Mercer Landmark.
