Jake Clayton, 13, Celina, landed this 23-inch walleye Friday afternoon in Beaver Creek next to the West Bank Spillway. His fishing buddy Fred Richards, Celina, reeled in five big walleyes of his own and also gave an assist when Jake’s line snapped as the fish flopped around on the bank. Dinner plans at the Clayton household is that dad will clean it, mom will cook it and Jake will eat it, he said. At right, Lonnie Hagaman, Celina, hooked this 22 pound, 37-inch catfish earlier this week also near the spillway. Hagaman said he was actually fishing for walleye when he landed the monster. The Ohio Division of Wildlife began stocking walleye in Grand Lake St. Marys five years ago.
