| An ice rescue is achieved using practices outlined the previous day. Montezuma Fire Chief Roger Davenport said such training is offered periodically to fire departments bordering Grand Lake St. Marys as a means of being ready in the event of an emergency situation. A popular mecca for outdoor enthusiasts, there have been times when people ventured out when the ice was not safe necessitating help from firefighters as well as the Ohio Division of Parks. |
