| A 2000 Ford Focus rests in a field along Township Line Road, south of Howick Road, following an accident at 1:58 p.m. June 28. Esther V. Caryer, 78, of Wren, was heading northbound when she drove off the left side of the road striking a utility pole and telephone box. The car came to a stop after hitting a second pole. Caryer was taken by ambulance to Van Wert County Hospital, where her condition was not available today. The accident remains under investigation by the Mercer County Sheriff's Office.
