James Chittum

Former Celina resident James Chittum, 89, of Dayton, died Oct. 10, 2004, at his home.
   He was born May 27, 1915, in Dayton. His wife of 61 years, the former Ruth A. Frey, is deceased.
   Surviving are a son, Richard O. (Barbara); two daughters, Patricia R. (Russell) McDivitt and Nancy E. (Charles) Allen; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
   Two brothers, Leroy and Jack, and a sister, Charlotte Bachman, are deceased.
   He retired from Reynolds and Reynolds after 42 years and was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church and its Leisure Club, both of Riverside.
   Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. David Brinkmoeller officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton.
   Calling is 6-8 p.m. today at Tobias Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel. A prayer service will be held there at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
   Contributions can be made to the church.

Claude "Pete" Harvey, of rural Coldwater, died Oct. 11, 2004, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.
   Arrangements are pending at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina.


Virginia Rosenbeck

Virginia Claire Rosenbeck, 75, 9 Veterans St., Chickasaw, died Oct. 11, 2004, at her home.
   She was born Feb. 1, 1929, in Minster, to Bernard and Louise Claire Hoff Boecker. On July 2, 1949, she married Paul Francis Rosenbeck who died May 9, 1995.
   Surviving are four sons, Dick (Nancy) of Monroe, Mich., Dan (Beth) and Steve (Mary Beth), all of Chickasaw, and Ron (Diane) of Trinity, Ind.; six daughters, Janice (John) Ranly, Cassella, Chris (Tony) Prenger and Marge (Joe) Giere, all of Maria Stein, Angie (Jack) Heuker and Barb (Wayne) Hein, all of Chickasaw, and Joyce (Mark) Fritz, Coldwater; four sisters, Rita (Fred) Blommel, Dayton, Marcie Curtis, Wapakoneta, Dottie (Nick) Trost, Columbus, and Jane (Wayne) Au, Mansfield; a brother-in-law, Gordon Bailey, Sidney; a sister-in-law, Verona Boecker, Minster; 35 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are a brother, Bernie Boecker, and two sisters, Pat Stewart and Mary Bailey.
   She formerly owned Wint's and Bolly's restaurants in New Bremen and formerly served as librarian at Marion Township Branch Library in Chickasaw. She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, where she participated in the caring ministry and sang in the Resurrection Choir, and the Rosary-Altar Sodality, both of Chickasaw.
   Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Mike Norton officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
   Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp's Funeral Home, Coldwater.
   Contributions can be made to State of the Heart Home Health & Hospice.


Waneta Steinbrunner

Waneta Steinbrunner, 76, of Coldwater, died Oct. 11, 2004, at Riverside Hospital, Columbus.
   She was born May 23, 1928, in Mercer County, to Painter and Bernadine Puthoff Hoyng. On Jan. 5, 1952, she married Cyril Thomas Steinbrunner who died Jan. 4, 1996.
   Surviving are four sons, Tom J. of Beavercreek, Bill (Joan) of Coldwater, Bob (Lori) of New Carlisle, and Jim (Jeanine) of Midland, Mich.; a daughter, Joan (Willard) Martin, Dublin; and 14 grandchildren.
   Deceased are two sisters, Demaris Kroft and infant Patty Ann Hoyng.
   She had worked as a nurse in the former office of Dr. Harnick in Coldwater. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and St. Ann's Rosary Altar Sodality, both of Coldwater.
   Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
   Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
   Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or State of the Heart Home Health & Hospice.


Mary Teeple

Mary Teeple, of Celina, died today, Oct. 12, 2004, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
   Arrangements are pending at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina.


Eugene Tumbusch

Eugene L. "Barney" Tumbusch, 65, 1 Adams St., New Bremen, died Oct. 11, 2004, at his residence.
   Arrangements are pending at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
