This year's fashionable poinsettias could have top spot in Elvis' blue Christmas, but they won't get any play time from traditionalists. Blue poinsettias are turning up here and there, but they're not the real deal. The traditional Christmas white poinsettia can be sprayed with just about any color available in the line of sprays made specifically for flowers, according to Missy Chalk of The Garden Emporium Greenhouse and Flower Shop near Celina. To illustrate, Karla Kessler, also of Garden Emporium, sprays different blooms on a white plant purple and coral. Chalk said the spraying is not healthy for the plant, so those who try to keep their plants for next year should pass by the blues. However, the new look is fun for the season.
