| New Idea Credit Union, 300 W. Sycamore St., Coldwater, has changed its name to First Choice Credit Union Inc. A new drive-through also has opened at the facility, offering customer services found inside the building via a drive-up window. Credit union officials decided to change the name to better reflect the expansion in the credit union's membership base, said loan officer Janet Uhlenhake. New Idea Credit Union was chartered in 1967 by a group of employees from the former AVCO New Idea Farm Equipment Co. in Coldwater. It started out as a small office in the former AVCO factory offering its services only to AVCO employees. In 1983, the credit union expanded by making its services available to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Mercer County. Purchase this as a quality photograph | ||||||||
