07-02-05 ’Riders, ’Cats rally for ACME wins

  The Roughriders came back from a 4-0 deficit to beat Wapakoneta 7-5 in the opening game to advance to the winner's bracket final. In the nightcap, Minster scored three times in the top of the seventh to edge out New Bremen 4-3 to face the Roughriders today at 2:30 p.m. New Bremen and Wapak will play in a elimination game at Noon today.

  Minster began its run in the seventh when Dan Mueller walked. Aaron Heitbrink got a single and Chris Stueve drew a walk to load the bases for Jake Luttmer. Luttmer walked to drive in Mueller. After a pitching change by New Bremen, Bob Inskeep tied the game by drawing a walk to score Heitbrink. The game-winner came up when Eric Bernhold fly out to left deep enough to score Stueve.
  Allan Heitbrink scattered six hits and a walk through seven innings to get the win, striking out five along the way.
