Chattanooga firefighters make one final check after putting out a hog barn fire Monday morning on the property of Richard Post, 920 Skeels Road. People at the scene spotted flames and kept them in check until fire departments rolled in shortly after 11:30 a.m. Fire Chief Doug Brehm believes lightning struck the building causing a gas line leak that led to flames in the unoccupied east part of the building. Twenty firefighters and three trucks responded with Southwest Mercer County Fire District bringing a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots. Damage is estimated in the $500 to $600 range.
