| | Smoke continues to rise from a controlled burn that went awry at 2:24 p.m. Monday at the home of Steve Houser, 11881 Evans Road, Mendon. Workers were in the process of tearing down the shed and burning debris when the fire threatened a nearby mobile home. Mendon Fire Chief Dennis Clay said firefighters sprayed water on the mobile home to cool the exterior. No damage was reported.
