Harold Barhorst

Harold F. Barhorst, 77, of E. Sixth St., Minster, died at 9:30 a.m. July 17, 2006, at Versailles Health Care Center.
   He was born Sept. 9, 1928, in Fort Loramie, to Albert J. and Anna Barlage Barhorst.
   Survivors are three brothers, Albert (Marty), Minster, and Carl (Eileen) and Ernest (Joann), all of Fort Loramie; and three sisters, Alma Mangen, New Bremen, Norma (LeRoy) Koverman, Van Wert, and Joan Vondenhuevel, Minster.
   Deceased are two brother-in-laws, Orville Mangen and Vernon Vondenhuevel.
   He retired in 1989 from 40 years of service at Minster Machine Company. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, stationed in Alaska.
   Services are 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Gehret Funeral Home, Fort Loramie, the Rev. Chris Barhorst officiating. Burial will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery, Minster.
   Calling is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 8-9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.


Pauline Busse

Pauline M. Busse, 99, of West Fourth St., Minster, died at 6 p.m. July 16, 2006, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster.
   She was born Dec. 29, 1906, in Minster, to Henry and Agnes Heitkamp Baumer. On Sept. 17, 1938, she married Albert Busse, who died May 4, 1946. She was the last of her family.
   Survivors are three nephews, Nicholas and Roger Baumer, Minster, and Mark (Joanne) Baumer, Coldwater; six nieces, Marilyn Bruns, Chickasaw, Linda (George) Reier and Judy (Michael) Monnier, all of Sidney, Susan (James) Jacobs, Coldwater, Lenora (Dennis) Albers, Cassella, and Lucy (Thomas) Hole, Versailles; and numerous great and great-great-nephews and nieces.
   Deceased are three brothers, Julius (Emma Meyer) Baumer, Leander (Viola Tebbe) Baumer, and Lawrence Baumer; and two sisters, Corrine (Herman) Mangen and Viola Baumer.
   She was a seamstress and sewed for the church and for individuals. She boarded local school teachers and worked many years at Boeckers Market, Minster. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster.
   Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Thursday at the church the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
   Calling is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-9:30 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
   Contributions can be made to Right to Life.


Lois Dufur

Lois E. Dufur, 75, 3601 state Route 703, Celina, died at 7:05 a.m. July 17, 2006, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
   She was born June 10, 1931, in Mercer County, to John and Mabel Rumple Smelser. On June 2, 1967, she married George H. Dufur, who survives.
   Also surviving are three sons, Danny, Frank and Tommy Iadevaia, all of Florida; three daughters, Darlene (Craig) Snavely and Trixie Dufur, both of Celina, and Penny Iadevaia, Fla; two brothers, Paul and Bob (Lassie) Smelser, all of Celina; a sister, Kate (Carl) Borger, Orlando, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
   Deceased are a son, Mike Iadevaia; two daughters, Roseanne and Marcy Iadevaia; a brother, Junior Smelser; five sisters, Marcell Mosier, Olive Taylor, Maxine Sweigart, Vera Stemen and Hazel Carpenter.
   She was a homemaker.
   Calling is 3-5 p.m. Wednesday in the parlor of St. John Lutheran Church, Celina.
   Contributions can be made to the activities fund at Celina Manor.
   Arrangements are being handled by W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina.


Aurelia Grieshop

Fort Recovery native Aurelia "Rela" Ruth Grieshop, 93, died July 14, 2006, in Hopkinton, Iowa, where she had been a resident since 2003.
   She was born Nov. 11, 1912, in Fort Recovery to James and Dora Dilhoff Coughlin. On Aug. 21, 1937, she married Ivo. J. Grieshop, who died in 1979.
   Surviving are a two sons, David S. (Midge) Grieshop of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and James I. (Pat) Grieshop of Davis, Calif.; two daughters, Mary Ellen (John) Menke of Barnesville, Md, and Ann Marie Grieshop of Hopkinton, Iwoa.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are all her brothers and sisters and their spouses.
   She taught at Parkway Elementary School, Rockford, in the early 1970s. She gave hours of service to St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Rockville.
   She has donated her body to medical science. A memorial service will be held in Rockford later this year.
   Contributions can be made to local Hospice organizations or favorite educational activity.


Raymond Heilers

Raymond B. Heilers, 89, of Anna, died late the evening of July 17, 2006, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster.
   Arrangements are pending at Gehret Funeral Home, Fort Loramie.


Gertrude Miller

Gertrude S. Miller, 87, of East Livingston St., Celina, died at 7:50 a.m. July 17, 2006, at Celina Manor.
   She was born Feb. 18, 1919, in Bradford, to Mearl and Della Gilliland Selby. On June 25, 1947, she married Doyle Miller, who died Nov. 10, 1972.
   She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
   Deceased are one brother, Wilson Selby; four sisters, Lucille Crow, Rose Gilmore, Thelma and Mabel Selby; two brothers-in-law, Hiram Crow and Vernon Gilmore; and a sister-in-law, Lucille Selby.
   She was employed many years at the former First National Bank, Celina, and retired from Mercer County Treasurer's Office in 1981. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Celina. She was a graduate of Memorial High School, St. Marys and the International Business College, Ft. Wayne, Ind.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys, the Rev. Douglas Meyer officiating.
   Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
   Arrangements are being handled by Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina.


Aspasia Moucoulis

Aspasia Moucoulis, 79, of Ann Arbor, Mich., died July 16, 2006, at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
   Services are at the convenience of the family. Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, is handling arrangements.
