Janice Brands

Janice M. Brands, 100, formerly of 616 Royal Lane, Celina, died at 6:15 p.m. Dec. 10, 2005, at Otterbein, St. Marys.
   She was born Sept. 17, 1905, in Mercer County, to William F. and Sayde A. Guy Risher. On July 22, 1954, she married Eugene G. Brands, who died March 18, 1982.
   Surviving are a stepson, Jack (Brenda) of Englewood; a niece, Zita Bidwell, St. Marys; and two stepgrandsons.
   Deceased is a brother, Rex Risher.
   She was retired from 25 years as a bookkeeper at the Rockford office of Dayton Power & Light Co. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and American Legion Auxiliary 210, both of Celina, and Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks, Mercer County Lodge.
   Services are 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
   Calling is after noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
   Contributions can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.


Lucille Gasson

Lucille M. Gasson, 77, of 1128 Hager St., St. Marys, died Dec. 11, 2005, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, t. Marys.
   Arrangements are being completed by Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.


Mary Gibson

Mary E. Gibson, 88, of St. Marys, died Dec. 11, 2005, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.
   Arrangements are pending at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys.


Henry Koenig

Henry F. Koenig, 91, 7718 East 500 North, Portland, Ind., died at 5:22 a.m. Dec. 11, 2005, at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
   He was born Nov. 8, 1914, in Mount Horeb, Wis., to Frank and Julia Haag Koenig. On Feb. 8, 1938, he married Mary G. Eischen, who died July 5, 1988.
   Surviving are a son, Marvin (Ruth) of Portland, Ind.; two sisters, Laurina Brokish, Dodgeville, Wis., and Mary (Orville) Endres, Sauk City , Wis.; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are two brothers, Edwin and Joseph; and two sisters, Adelia Huber and Marcella Koenig.
   He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Bryant, Ind., and their St. Joseph Men's Society.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. David Hoying officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
   Calling is 2-7 p.m. Tuesday and 9-9:45 a.m. Wednesday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.


Floyd Niekamp

Floyd R. Niekamp, 70, 3130 state Route 118, St. Henry, died at 7:44 a.m. Dec. 11, 2005, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
   He was born July 17, 1935, in St. Henry, to Roman and Alvira Osterholt Niekamp. On Sept. 11, 1954, he married Mary Ellen Bruggeman, who survives.
   Also surviving are four sons, Steve (Kris) of Minster, Gary (Janet) of Coldwater, Ron (Betty) of Monticello, Ind., and Kevin (Lisa) of St. Marys; two daughters, Jane (Randy) Grimberg, Kettering, and Jill (Troy) Post, Tipp City; two brothers, Roger (Pat) of St. Henry, and Harold (Nancy) of Minster; and 16 grandchildren.
   He worked for H.A. Dorsten Inc., Minster. He was a member of the St. Henry Catholic Church and Coldwater Eagles.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial will be at the St. Henry Cemetery.
   Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.


Joe Taylor

Billie Joe Taylor, 65, of Celina died at 5:15 p.m. Dec. 10, 2005, at the Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford, where he had been a patient for three weeks.
   He was born Nov. 19, 1940, in Pruden, Tenn., to William Rufus Taylor and Alice Alma Rose Taylor. His mother survives.
   Also surviving is a daughter, Allison Sue Taylor, Clearwater, Fla.; a sister, Nancy Taylor Wilson, Florence, Ky.; and four brothers, Jerry (Donna) of Dayton, Ky., John of Greeneville, Tenn., and Elden (Kendra) and Frank (Marsha), all of Van Wert.
   Deceased are two brothers, James Edgar Taylor and Rusty Taylor; and a sister, Mary Taylor Francis.
   He was the owner and operator of M&S Dry Cleaning, Celina, for many years. He was a member of Free & Accepted Masons, Shanes Lodge 377, Rockford, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713, American Legion Post 210 and Benvolent & Protective Order of Elks Lodge 2170, all of Celina.
   Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, the Rev. Robert Loar officiating. Burial is at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
   Calling is after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Masonic services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
   Contributions can be made to State of the Heart Hospice.


Beverly Williams

Beverly D.B. Williams, 61, of 12080 state Route 362, Minster, died at 2:30 a.m. Dec. 10, 2005, at her residence.
   She was born March 27, 1944, in New Bremen, to Orville and Norma Kettler Lampert.
   Arrangements are being handled by Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen.
