Marcella Egbert

Formerly of 123 North Cherry St., St. Marys, Marcella Egbert, 84, resident of the St. Marys Living Center, died at 2:55 p.m. Dec. 29, 2005.
   She was born March 2, 1921, in St. Marys, to William and Esther Vordermark Caldwell. On Nov. 19, 1937, she married Edgar Egbert, who died Sept. 19, 1970.
   Survivors are three grandchildren, Steve Adams, Coldwater, and Scott Adams and Lisa Roth, both of Celina; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
   Deceased is a daughter, Phyllis Exline.
   She was retired from Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, where she worked many years in the housekeeping department. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, St. Marys.
   Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Bill Maki officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
   Calling is after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.


Janice Place

Janice Place, 72, 10988 state Route 364, St. Marys, died at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 29, 2005, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, following a sudden illness.
   She was born May 14, 1933, in New Bremen, to Forest and Lucille Hirschfeld Moser. On Nov. 1, 1952, she married George Place, who survives.
   Also surviving are two daughters, Pam (Nort) Frank, St. Marys, and Angie (Mike) Metz, Columbus, and four grandchildren.
   She held the position of family services coordinator at Altus Air Force Base and served on the welcoming and emergency committees of this organization. She retired to the Grand Lake area where she and her husband operated the antique shop Now and Then Antiques. She was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 388, Celina, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 767 and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 323, both of St. Marys.
   Private family services will be held at a later date.
   A celebration of her life will be noon-2 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys,
   Contributions can be made to the Auglaize County Humane Society.
