Rita Brockman

Former Cranberry Prairie resident, Rita C. Brockman, 82, Briarwood Manor, Coldwater, died at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 7, 2006, at the nursing home.
   She was born Aug. 5, 1923, in Maria Stein, to John and Mary Luebke Stucke. On Aug. 3, 1946, she married Serenus Brockman, who survives in Coldwater.
   Also surviving are three sons, Kenneth and Daniel, both of Celina, and David (Barbara), Rossburg; two sisters, Sally Heitkamp, Maria Stein, and Henrietta Dirksen, Osgood; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are three brothers, Henry, Fred and Louis; five sisters, Alvina Hemmelgarn, Liz Rethman, Maria Rethman, Rose Albers, and Ann Stucke; and daughter-in-law, Cynthia Brockman.
   She was a homemaker and member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, Cranberry Prairie. She was a member of the Knights of St. John Auxiliary, Maria Stein.
   Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Tony Fortman officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
   Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.


Orrin Paul

Orrin W. Paul, 89, 17600 E. Shelby Road, New Bremen, died at 11 a.m. Feb. 7, 2006, at Valley Nursing Center, St. Marys.
   He was born June 23, 1916, near New Bremen, to Christian and Wilhelmina Jung Paul. On May 25, 1939, he married Marie Dammeyer, who died Aug. 24, 2005.
   Survivors are two sons, Dale (Pat), New Bremen, and Stan (Carol), Galloway; eight granchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
   Deceased are a son, Ronald; three brothers, Carl, Hilgard and an infant; and two sisters, Pauline and Hedwig.
   He was a farmer and 1935 graduate of New Bremen High School. He was a member of the St. Peter Church, New Bremen, and the Auglaize County Farm Bureau.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Stephen Wills officiating. Burial is at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
   Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
   Contributions can be made to the church or New Bremen Emergency Squad.
