Remedios Brual

Remedios S. Brual, 96, 3111 Shore St., Celina, died at 5:30 a.m. Feb. 24, 2006, at her residence.
   She was born Jan. 17, 1910, in the Philippines, to Cipriano and Rosario Amurao Sarmiento.
   Survivors are a son, Rolando (Rose) Brual, Celina; a sister, Conception Sarmiento, the Philippines; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are two sons, Edmund and Cipriano, and several brothers and sisters.
   She was a retired teacher.
   Funeral mass is 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Church, Celina, the Rev. Richard Riedel officiating.
   Calling is private.
   Memorials can be made to Celina Area Visiting Nurses & Hospice.
   Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, is handling arrangements.


James Dietrich

James J. Dietrich, 87, 13 Eastmoor Dr., New Bremen, died Feb. 14, 2006, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
   He was born Sept. 20, 1918, in New Bremen to Jerry and Dorothy Nolte Dietrich. On Aug. 16, 1944, he married Winifred Gerwels, who died Aug. 5, 1999.
   Survivors are a son, Steven, New Bremen; and a brother, Ralph (Louise), New Bremen.
   Deceased are a sister, Marcella Montague, and a brother, Marvin.
   He was a retired shipping/receiving clerk for the Minster Machine Co. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer, New Bremen, and graduate of New Bremen High School.
   Graveside services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Augustine Cemetery, Minster, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. His body has been cremated at his request.
   Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, is handling arrangements.


Eugene Mowery

Eugene A. Mowery, 88, 607 N. Sugar St., Celina, died at 12:07 p.m. Feb. 23, 2006, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
   He was born Jan. 18, 1918, in Toledo to James Butler Mowery and Gertrude Hatfield Mowery. On Sept. 26, 1943, he married Henrietta Luedeke Schroeder, who survives.
   Also surviving are thee sons, Henry (Marcella), Paulding; David (Kathy), Sylva, N.C.; and Steve, Celina; a daughter, Ruth (Jerry) Long, Celina; a foster son, Charles A., Fairborn; a sister, Josephine McEvoy, Celina; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are two brothers, Harry and Paul, and a half-sister, Betty Jarvis.
   He was a retired lineman from Celina Municipal Utilities. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 210 and Moose Lodge 1473, all of Celina.
   Services are 1 p.m. Sunday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina. Burial is at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
   Calling is 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
