Ruth King

Ruth Elizabeth King, 89, 1301 Myers Road, Celina, died Aug. 3, 2006, at The Gardens of Celina.
   She was born Jan. 26, 1917, in Auglaize County to Harry H. and Bertha (Huelsmeyer) Wiehe. On Oct. 14, 1945, she was married to Richard King, who died Aug. 14, 2004.
   Surviving are two daughters, Pamela (Bruce) McClelland, and Deborah Duncan, both of Seattle, Wash.; two daughters-in-law, Maxine King, Stoughton, Wisc. and Martha King, address unknown; a brother, Victor Wiehe, Florida; a sister, Elizabeth King, Fremont; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.
   Deceased is a son, Steve King, one brother, Howard Wiehe and one sister, Edna Hirschfeld.
   She was self-employed and had operated Bee's Beauty Salon. A 1935 graduate of New Bremen High School, she was a member of the Celina Garden club, Celina Elks and St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Celina.
   Services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina. The Rev. Jeff Smalley will officiate and burial will be held at a later date.
   Calling hours are Sunday from 1 p.m. to the hour of services.
   Memorials may be directed to the St. Paul's United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund.


Donald Dock

Donald R. Dock, 84, 311 Zillah St., Celina, died at 10:15 a.m. Aug. 3, 2006, at his residence.
   He was born Aug. 30, 1921, in Celina, to Waldo and Lala Long Dock. On Oct. 17, 1943, he married Mary Lavern Monroe, who survives.
   Also surviving are two sons, Alan (Rebecca), New Bremen, and Andy (Jena), Dayton; a brother, Lowell (Bernie), Celina; a sister, Wanda Young, Celina; and a grandson.
   Deceased is a brother-in-law, John Young.
   In 1986, he retired from Reynolds & Reynolds, Celina. He was a 1940 Celina High School graduate. He was U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Celina First Church of God and Veterans of Foreign War Post 5713, Celina.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Richard VanHorn officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
   Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina, and after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
   Contributions can be made to Celina Visiting Nurses & Hospice or the church.


Berniece Germann

Berniece L. Germann, 88, formerly of 1014 Hemlock St., Celina, died at 7:28 a.m. on Aug. 4, 2006, at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
   She was born April 6, 1918, in New Corydon, Ind. to Carl and Blanche (West) Buck Sr. On March 23, 1938. she married Elmer Germann, who preceded her in death Oct. 27, 1993.
   Surviving are three daughters, Connie (George) Weinman, Roseville, Minn.; Judy (Clark) Springer, Celina; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl (Norma) Buck Jr., Celina, and a sister, Marjorie Miesse, Celina.
   Preceding her in death were three brothers, Herschel, Leondis and Donald and four sisters, Iola (Pat) Schuck, Beatrice Miller, Mildred Willrath and Burnice Buck.
   She was a retired long distance operator for GTE, Celina, and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Celina, where services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Arthur Wilde will officiate and burial will follow in Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
   Friends may call at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina, on Monday, 4-8 p.m.
   Contributions may be directed to St. Jon Heffner Endowment or State of the Heart Home Health & Hospice.


Darlene Shade

Darlene J. Shade, 72, 515 Sycamore St., Celina, died at 2:50 a.m. Aug. 4, 2006, at Hospice of Dayton.
   She was born Nov. 29, 1933, in Darke County to Glenn Nowlin and Lois Young. On Nov. 2, 1951, she married Jack E. Shade, who lives in Celina.
   Also surviving are one son, Jeff, Celina; three daughters, Jackie (Ken) Ward, Englewood; Jill Pyle, Celina and Jennifer (David) Phipps, St. Marys; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sharon (Bill) Jones, Waynesville and Sandra (Ron) Hartrum, Ansonia.
   One son-in-law, Jay Pyle, is deceased.
   Services will be held Monday at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina. The Rev. Jeff Smalley will officiate and burial will follow in Mercer Memory gardens, Celina.
   Calling hours are Monday, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at the funeral home.
   Memorial contributions may be directed to the Cheryl Ann Programs, 4980 Mud Pike, Celina.


Dean Cook

Dean E. Cook, 73, 806 Laurel Drive, St. Marys, died 5:35 p.m. Aug. 4, 2006, at Joint township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. He formerly lived in Houston, Texas.
   He was born June 17, 1933, in New Madison to Harold and Jean (Ferguson) Cook. On Jan. 22, 1977, he was married to Phyllis Deuel, who survives.
   Also surviving is one son, John (Sisca), Houston, Texas; two step-sons, Mark (Della) Goldsmith, Camden, and Dick (Melanie) Goldsmith, Zanesfield; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one brother, Neil (Joyce) Cook, St. Marys.
   He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Cook, and two brothers, David and Ronald Cook.
   He was retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber co., Houston, Texas, and had served with the company in Ireland and Thailand. He was a member of Clear Lake United Methodist Church in Houston.
   Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
   Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday, 6-8 p.m.
   Memorial donations may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
