Dick Craft

Dick L. Craft, 52, 408 Webb St., St. Marys, died at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 8, 2006, at his residence following an extended illness.
   He was born May 19, 1954, in St. Marys, to Leo and Ida Steen Craft, who are deceased. He was raised by his step-mother, Merle Howick Craft, who is also deceased. On Jan. 17, 1984, he married Kathleen McCann, who survives.
   Also surviving are two daughters, Whitney and Britney, both of St. Marys; a step-son, Derek (Jill) Turner, St. Marys; a step-daughter, Kristi Turner, St. Marys; two sisters, Marlene Hitchen and Donna Chilcoat, both of St. Marys; a brother-in-law, Mike (Joyce) McCann, Tampa, Fla.; a mother-in-law, Gloria McCann, St. Marys; a granddaughter and four step-grandchildren.
   Deceased are two sisters, Dorcas Vanover and Betty Sanders.
   He was a welder at Accubuilt, Lima, and a graduate of Memorial High School, St. Marys.
   Private family services will be held.
   Arrangments are by Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.


Vera Kittle

Vera M. Kittle, 86, Celina, died Aug. 8, 2006, at The Gardens of Celina.
   Arrangements are pending with Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.


Mildred Klingel

H. Mildred Klingel, 98, formerly of Madison Township, died Aug. 7, 2006, at Woodlands Nursing Care, Muncie, Ind.
   She was born July 24, 1908, in Salamonia, Ind., to Russell and Addie Bartling Messner. On Oct. 16, 1932, she married Herman "Cap" Klingel, who died Aug. 13, 1993.
   Surviving are two sons, Charles R. (Glenna), Muncie, and Don W. (Peggy), Rushville, Ind.; a daughter, Susan (Michael) Klingel-Dowd, Muncie; nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
   She had worked at G.C. Murphy Dime Store, Jacks Surplus City and Jay Garment, all of Portland, Ind. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Salamonia, and a 1926 graduate of Madison Township High School.
   Services are 1 p.m. Friday at the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home, Portland, the Rev. Doug Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at Salamonia Cemetery.
   Calling is 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel.
   Contributions can be made to the church.


Roma Linn

Roma J. Linn, 87, 8038 Linn Road, Celina, died at 8:25 p.m. Aug. 8, 2006, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
   He was born March 10, 1919, in Mercer County, to Frederick and Anna Brehm Linn. On Dec. 2, 1941, he married Dorothy M. Pond, who survives.
   Also surviving are three sons, Robert L. (Joyce), Celina, Frederick J. (Charlotte), Berne, Ind., and Randy (Paula), Rockford; two daughters, Patricia Ann (Harold) Shaffer, Rockford, and Betty E. (Paul) Borger, St. Henry; a sister-in-law, Jane, Coldwater; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are a brother, Arlie; and two sisters, Lela Linn and Addie Anderson.
   He retired from New Idea, Coldwater. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of St John Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 210, both of Celina.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Arvid Harklow officiating. Burial is at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
   Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
   Contributions can be made to Cancer Society, Mercer Health Home Care or the church.


Betty Morris

Betty A. Morris, 71, 210 Enterprise St., Celina, died at 8:15 a.m. Aug. 6, 2006, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
   She was born Aug. 31, 1934, in Rossburg, to Vernon and Carrie Donovan Britten. On June 2, 1951, she married Ivor Morris, who survives.
   Also surviving are a son, Todd, of California; a daughter, Becci (Mike) Hatcher, Celina; a brother, Jack (Virginia) Britten, of Florida; two sisters, Juanita (Richard) Rosendahl, of Arizona, and Judy (Frank) Crabtree, Celina; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
   Deceased is a daughter Terri Lee Morris.
   Graveside services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pike Run Cemetery, Gomer, the Rev. Esther Cottrell officiating.
   There is no calling.
   Arrangements are by Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina.


Ruth Sickles

Ruth Joan Sickles, 72, of Celina, died Aug. 5, 2006, at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Living Community.
   She was born Oct. 16, 1933, in Celina, to Gerald E. "Tony" and Ruth Irene Young Hildbold. On Dec. 14, 1961, she married Lowell E. Sickles, who died Aug. 8, 1988.
   Surviving are two step-daughters, Vicki Boatright and Lisa Sneddon, both of Celina; a brother, Dennis (Jane) Houser, Clayton; and a sister, Pat Nill, Glendale, Ariz.
   Deceased is a brother, Don Houser.
   She worked at Reynolds & Reynolds, Celina. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 210 Auxiliary, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1473, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 1291, all of Celina. She was a 1951 graduate of Celina High School.
   Graveside services are 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Spring Hill Cemetery, Fort Recovery, the Rev. Jeff Smalley officiating.
   There is no calling.
   Contributions can be made to the church.
   Arrangements are by W. H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina.
