Walter Bernard

Former Celina resident Walter R. "Terry" Bernard Jr., 69, of Sharonville, died Aug. 15, 2006, at Bethesda North Hospital, Cincinnati.
   His wife of 44 years is Carol Sue, who survives.
   Also surviving are three sons, Patrick (Bobbie), David and Christopher (Kim), all of Cincinnati; two sisters, Sister Patrick Marie Bernard, Cincinnati, and Nancy Hebner, of Virginia; and three grandchildren.
   He worked more than 30 years for the Ford Motor Co. and was a 1959 graduate of the University of Notre Dame.
   Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Church, Sharonville. Burial is at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Montgomery.
   Contributions can be made to the church, American Cancer Society or to the Sisters of Charity.


Virginia Boyer

Virginia Irene Boyer, 72, 111 Main St., Montezuma, died Aug. 15, 2006, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne, Ind.
   She was born July 27, 1934, in Ohio to Julius and Hulda Fullenkamp Wehrkamp. She married Rex Boyer, who survives.
   Also surviving are four sons, Tony (Barb), Springfield, Scott and Rex Allen, both of Montezuma, Roger (Annie), Celina; three daughters, Roseann (Mike) Selhorst, Coldwater, Debbie Klosterman, Chickasaw, and Susie Wilker, Celina; a brother, Kenny Laucher, Quincy; a sister, Betty Flaute, Botkins; nine grandchildren and six stepgrandchildren.
   Deceased are a son, Steve and a grandchild.
   She was a homemaker.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater, the Rev. Dan Schmitmeyer officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Rev. David Dougherty

Rev. David Dougherty, C.PP.S., a member of the Kansas City Province of the Society of the Precious Blood, died Aug. 15, 2006, at St. Charles Center, Carthagena, where he had lived since 2002.
   He was born Nov. 27, 1922, in Dodge City, Kan., to Joseph and Nellie Dollison Dougherty. He was incorporated into the Society of the Precious Blood on Dec. 8, 1944, and was ordained a priest on March 25, 1949. His assignments included parishes in Ohio, Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa and Missouri.
   Survivors are two brothers, Joseph, of Virginia and Bernard; and a sister, Margaret Clawson, of Florida.
   Deceased are two brothers, Thomas and Robert Barker.
   Reception of the body is 12:35 p.m. Friday with a prayer vigil at 7 p.m. at St. Charles Center, Carthagena. Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday in Assumption Chapel at the Capital center with burial to follow in the community cemetery.
   Local arrangements were handled by Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
