Murray Fitzgerald

Murray S. Fitzgerald, 89, 913 Tecumseh Drive, St. Marys, died at 5:20 p.m. Aug. 25, 2006, at Valley Nursing Home, St. Marys.
   He was born Aug. 28, 1916, in Kittanning, Pa., to Murray Bud and Hilda M. Frank Fitzgerald. On Sept. 29, 1939, he married Dorothy W. Bervinkle, who survives.
   Also surviving are a son, Murray Bud (Barb), St. Marys; a daughter, Carol J. (Steven) Kennedy, Fort Wayne, Ind.; three sisters, Bernice Stimmel and Cora McKinney, both of Natrona Heights, Pa., and Mary Louise Michael, Freeport, Pa.; four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
   Deceased is a sister, Maxine Beachy.
   He was a retired chemical engineer and vice-president of Cooper Industrial Products Corporation in Findlay and Auburn, Ind. He was a graduate of University of Pittsburgh and was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church, the Kiwanis Club International and Eagles Lodge Aerie 767, all of St. Marys. He was also a member of Auburn Lions' Club.
   Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Ed Groff officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
   Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
   Contributions can be made to the church building fund.


Alvina Fortman

Alvina J. Fortman, 89, 24 N. Hamilton St., Minster, died at 4:25 p.m. Aug. 26, 2006, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster.
   She was born May 5, 1917, in Minster, to Frank and Elizabeth Riethman Fortman.
   Survivors are nieces and nephews.
   Deceased are two brothers and two sisters.
   She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster.
   Services are 6 p.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster. Burial is 10 a.m. Thursday at the church cemetery.
   Calling is after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.


Robert Hance

Former St. Marys resident Robert E. Hance, 74, died at 5 p.m. Aug. 24, 2006, at Brighton Gardens, Greenville, S.C.
   He was born Feb. 5, 1932, in Perrysburg, to Ray and Doris Wilson Hance. On Oct. 6, 1951, he married Rose Romick, who died April 16, 2000.
   Survivors are a son, Kevin, St. Marys; two daughters, Jody, St. Marys, and Roberta, Greenville, S.C.; a brother, Marvin, Evanston, Wyo.; a sister, Betty (Dennis) Higley, Troy; a sister-in-law, Patricia Copus, Van Buren; and four grandchildren.
   He was manager of Brookside Restaurant, Findlay; Brodbeck's Grocery, Celina and St. Marys; and owned Bob and Rose Ceramic Shoppe, St. Marys. He was a pianist, sculptor and organist. He graduated in 1950 from Van Buren High School where he created the name and school symbol, "Van Buren Black Knights."
   Graveside funeral rites are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys, the Rev. Douglas Magin officiating.
   Calling is after 10 a.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.


Kimberly Honigford

Kimberly Honigford, 11, of Delphos, died Aug. 26, 2006, at Children's Medical Center, Dayton.
   Arrangements are pending at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys.


Kenneth Shuret

Kenneth E. Shuret, 70, of Greenville, died Aug. 27, 2006, at Heartland of Greenville.
   He was born Jan. 27, 1936, in Greenville, to Carl and Virgie Pitman Shuret. He married Gladys M. Spencer, who is deceased.
   Survivors are a son, Eugene (Barb), Greenville; two daughters, Kathy and Deborah, both of Greenville; and two grandchildren.
   Deceased are three sisters, Mary, Agnes and Lucille.
   He retired from the former New Idea, Coldwater and was a member of Greenville Baptist Temple.
   Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home, Greenville. Burial will follow at Greenville Cemetery.
   Calling is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Sarah Thiesing

Former New Bremen and Wapakoneta resident, Sarah L. Thiesing, 82, died at 1:50 a.m. Aug. 25, 2006, at Heartland Fairfield, Pleasantville.
   She was born Jan 13, 1924, in Delphos, to Clinton J. and Icie Mae Felver Miller. On July 23, 1943, she married Ralph Wiesinger, who died Aug. 16, 1967. In October 1972, she married John Klophenstien, who died Aug. 19, 1976. On April 4, 1981, she married Reuben Thiesing, who died Aug. 12, 2000.
   Survivors are three daughters, Angela (Ron) Berzouska, Lancaster, Darla Lyons, Orlando, Fla., and Lois (Brian) McGarvey, London, Ontario, Canada; a sister, Bettie J. Schaub, Wapakoneta; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
   Deceased are a son, Ralph Weissinger; two brothers, Clinton and Robert Miller; and a sister, Jonanna Finley.
   In March 1981, she retired from Auglaize County Department of Human Resources. She graduated from Blume High School, Wapakoneta; and attended Ohio State University and Wright State University.
   She was a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta, New Bremen Senior Citizens, New Knoxville Historical Association, Auglaize County Extension Agency, Tri Star, Lima. She was a five-year member All Ohio Senior Chorus; was active in Boy Scouts, Girls scouts, the Wapak PTA , the Koneta Chapter of Order of Eastern Star, where she was past matron, and Ohio District Lutheran Social Service Commission.
   Services are 3 p.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Tom Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, St. Marys.
   Calling is after 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
   Contributions can be made to Lutheran Social Services or to the music department of your local school.
   Arrangements are by Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen.
