Doris Day
Doris M. Day, 92, of Fort Recovery, died at 8:25 p.m. April 14, 2007, at AmeriCare Nursing Home, Portland, Ind.
She was born Feb. 12, 1915, in Fort Recovery to Russell and Leona Watkins Potter. On Feb. 3, 1932, she married Glenn W. Day Sr., who died April 8, 1985.
Surviving are two sons, Glenn (Ardith) Jr. and Larry (Mary Jo), all of Fort Recovery; a daughter-in-law, Norma (Charles) Frederick, Fort Wayne, Ind.; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Richard; a sister, Ruth Addington; a grandchild and a great-great-grandchild.
She was a member of Fort Recovery United Methodist Church and a past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 111, both of Fort Recovery.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, the Rev. Kenneth Galdeen officiating. Burial is at Springhill Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Order of Eastern Star will conduct a service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Contributions can be made to State of the Heart Home Health and Hospice.
