Louetta Walter
Louetta A. Walter, 84, formerly of 121 S. Leblond St., Celina, died at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 3, 2007, at Colonial Nursing Center, Rockford.
She was born Sept. 17, 1922, in Minster, to Bernard "Ben" and Emma Thobe Gehle. On Oct. 13, 1961, she married Paul J. Walter, who died Feb. 3, 1978.
Surviving are five sons, Howard (Candy) Courtney and Richard (Jean) Courtney, all of Rockford, William (Kathy) Courtney, Delphos, Ronald (Ann) Gibson, Brazil, Ind., and Stephen (Kathy) Gibson, Celina; a daughter-in-law, Janine Courtney, of Michigan; two sisters, Rita Harter, St. Marys, and Edna Membury, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; two sisters-in-law, Alice Smith, Celina, and Gertrude Gehle, Piqua; 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a son, James Courtney; six brothers, Clarence, Ray, Victor, Norbert, Elmer and Louis Gehle; and two sisters, Irma Garner and Alvina Gehle.
She was a homemaker. She also was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 5713, Moose Lodge 1473, Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 1291, all of Celina, and attended St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Rockford.
Private family services will be held. Burial is at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
There are no calling hours.
Contributions can be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Endowment Fund.
Arrangements were handled by W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina.
