The aroma of chili wafted across the Mercer County Fairgrounds on Saturday for the second Mercer County Chili Festival. Dave Esser awaits bowls of chili served up by Mary Cisco of Celina, center, and Kim Koesters of Coldwater. Leisa Pearson garnered first-place honors in the chili cookoff with Randy Piper and Dana and Rhonda Runnion finishing second and third, respectively. The contest drew six entries.
