Arthur Leugers
Arthur H. Leugers, 78, 7980 state Route 119, Maria Stein, died at 6:16 a.m. April 6, 2009, at Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster.
He was born Jan. 29, 1931, in St. Rose, to Herman and Leona Huber Leugers. On Sept. 15, 1984, he married Bonnie Jean Atkins, who survives.
Other survivors are a stepson, Michael (Linda) Gowthrop, Angola, Ind.; a brother, Henry Leugers, Maria Stein; and a sister, Rosemary Moeller, Maria Stein; a sister-in-law, Helen Leugers, Springfield; a stepgrandchild and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Joseph Leugers; and a sister, Alvina Bernard.
He retired from New Idea Corporation, Coldwater, in 1996, and was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, the Knights of St. John and American Legion, both in Maria Stein, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Chickasaw. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Gene Schnipke officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. today and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
