Henry Chriss
Henry C. "Tut" Chriss, 88, formerly of Warminster, Pa. and a resident of Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community, St. Marys died at 6:40 p.m. July 15, 2009, at Otterbein.
He was born April 7, 1921, in Armstrong Grove, Iowa, to William and Leona Carl Chriss. On Nov. 16, 1946, he married Marcia Delores Noll, who died May 23, 2004.
Surviving are their children, William H. (Carol) Chriss, Holmdale, N.J., Barbra (David) Demetro, Griffin, Ga., and Beverly (Chris) Killian, New Bremen; his siblings, Daniel (Shirley) Chriss, Katy, Texas, M. Dean (Oleta) Chriss, Round Rock, Texas, James (Joyce) Chriss, Katy, Texas, Carol Lauman, St. Johnsbury, Texas, and Roland (Gwen) Chriss, Anaheim, Calif.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Deceased are siblings, Collen Dillender, William H. Chriss, Mary Eunice Gelb and an infant brother.
He retired in 1986 from sales and from the Upper Moreland School System, Willow Grove, Pa. He was a member of the Nativity of our Lord Catholic Church, Warminster, and the Hartsford Fire Company, Hartsville, Pa. He was a 1939 graduate of Newton High School, Newton, Iowa, and served in the U. S. Navy during WWII.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at St. Cyril Catholic Church, Jamison, Pa. Burial is at Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn.
Calling is 10-11 am. Monday at the church.
Contributions can be made to Otterbein, St. Marys or the State of the Heart Home Hospice.
Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, is handling arrangements.
