Irene Klosterman
Irene Klosterman, 90, Vero Beach, Fla., died Sept. 28, 2010, at Hospice of Vero Beach, Fla.
She was born Dec. 23, 1919, in Fort Recovery, to Joseph and Agnes Heuker Backs. On Aug. 30, 1941, she married Elmer Klosterman, who died June 6, 2010.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy (Thomas) Norman, Vero Beach, Fla., and Donna (Kevin) Eisenman, Stratford, Conn.; three brothers, Charles Backs, Coldwater, James Backs, Jensen Beach, Fla., and Andrew Backs, Hollywood, Fla.; six sisters, Marge VanDornvelt, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Ruth Brown, Botkins, Delores Sowar, Dayton, Sr. Barbara Jean Backs, Dayton, Joan Wenning, St. Henry, and Barbara Monnig, Centerville; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Also deceased is a brother, Joseph Backs; and two sisters, Edna Backs and Mary Ann Waters.
She was a member of the St. Bernard Church in Burkettsville, the Ladies Sodality of the church and the Daughters of Isabella. She managed the Harrisville Grain Company and the Maria Stein Grain Company. She also was executive director of the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Center in Celina.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Oct. 30 at the church. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-7 p.m. Oct. 29 at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
