Clarence Meyer
Clarence F. Meyer, 82, Fort Loramie, died Feb. 14, 2011, at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney.
He was born April 27, 1928, in Russia to Henry and Elenora Gehret Meyer. On May 20, 1950, he married Ruth Ann Bensman, who survives.
Also surviving are 14 children, Mary Jo (David) Enneking, Troy, Kathy (Frank) Schafer, Fort Loramie, Jane (Tom) Pleiman, Fort Loramie, Peg (Chuck) Wray, Fort Loramie, Carol (Greg) Borchers, Russia, Bill (Deb) Meyer, Minster, Teresa (Dave) Chaney, Fort Loramie, Sandy (Gary) Hoying, McCartyville, Sue (Pat) Frilling, McCartyville, Lynn (Mark) Meyer, Fort Loramie, Phil (Lisa) Meyer, McCartyville, Ron (Cindy) Meyer, Fort Loramie, Ann (Joe) Turner, Fort Loramie, and Jenny (Chris) Grudich, Fort Loramie; a son-in-law, Jerry Deloye, Yorkshire; four siblings, Marcella Tebbe, Russia, Sylvester Meyer, Covington, Mary Margaret Fullenkamp, Russia, and Leola (Francis) Hoying, Russia; brothers- and sisters in-law, Eugene and Wilma Bensman, Sidney, Betty Wehrman, Fort Loramie, Leonard and Connie Bensman, Sidney, the Rev. Gerald Bensman, Ludlow Falls, Mary Lou Thornton, Boston, Mass., Margie and Robert Zwiesler, Wichita, Kan., John and Jan Bensman, Anna, and Patricia and Peter Cook, Andrews, N.C.; 57 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a daughter, Cindy Deloye; siblings, Raphael, John and an infant sister, Rita; in-laws, Robert Tebbe, Jean Meyer, Lois Meyer, Henry Fullenkamp, Virgil Bensman, Donald Wehrman and Brad Thornton.
He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Fort Loramie, the Sacred Heart Knights of Columbus Council 5239 and the Shelby County Right to Life. He retired from farming and had worked at Ross Aluminum.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Gerald Bensman officiating with Revs. Steven Shoup and Robert Monnin co-officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
Memorials may be made to the Miami or Shelby County Right to Life or the Hahn-Hufford Nicholas Center of Hope in Piqua.
