The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Thomas Roessner
Thomas J. Roessner, 85, Bloomville, died Feb. 20, 2011, at the Ruffing Family Care Center in Bloomville.
He was born July 10, 1925, in Fort Recovery to Ferdinand and Mary Lefeld Roessner. On Aug. 28, 1946, he married Ruth Reiter, who died Jan. 12, 1987. On Dec. 2, 1988, he married Kathryn Moyer Bogner.
Also surviving are five sons, Gerald (Joanie) Roessner, Elkhorn, Neb., Michael (Eileen) Roessner, Tiffin, Stephen (Mary) Roessner, Tiffin, Gregory (Ginny) Roessner, Gibsonburg, and Daniel (Teresa) Roessner, Tiffin; a daughter, Barbara (Richard) Hopple, Bascom; a daughter-in-law, Jodi Roessner, Tiffin; two sisters, Antoinette Garrity, St. Henry, and Loretta Schroer, Coldwater; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Also deceased is a son, David Roessner; a grandson; a brother, Bruno Roessner; and a sister, Rita Koester.
He retired in 1986 from Atlas Inc. in Fostoria. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tiffin, the Caulfield American Legion Post 434 in Bloomville and the Tiffin Moose. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in the European Theater during World War II. He received an American Theater Ribbon, a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A rosary will be prayed 20 minutes before Mass. Burial with military graveside services conducted by the United Veterans Council of Tiffin is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home in Bloomville. A prayer service will be held at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Calvert Catholic Schools, the church or a charity of the donor's choosing.
