Making way for new store
Photo by Mark Pummell/The Daily Standard

Demolition has begun on the Aldi grocery store at 2001 Havemann Road, which was severely damaged by a tornado on April 19, 2011. Construction of a new store at the site will begin when weather permits with a grand opening hopefully in June, store manager Jerry Braun said this morning. The store will be the new prototype and a little larger than the former store. The grocery continues to operate at a temporary site at 905 E. Wayne St.
