Doris Piper
Doris L. Piper, 96, Celina, died at 7 a.m. Sept. 22, 2012, at her home.
She was born Sept. 2, 1916, in Mercer County to Merle and Hazel Stover Yocum. On June 27, 1942, she married John Reid "Sadie" Piper, who died in January 1971.
Surviving are a daughter, Cheryl (Clyde) Searfoss, Celina; one grandson; and one great-grandson.
Also deceased are two brothers, Russel Lee and George John Yocum and one sister, Cleo Lucile Reed.
She retired from Reynolds and Reynolds in 1982 and was a caregiver for several people. She was a member of New Horizons Community Church, Rockford. She was a 1932 graduate of Rockford High School.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Martin Schwartz officiating.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Memorials may be given to Community Health Professionals.
