Company now hopes to construct manure processing unit to travel to local farms

A plan by a Wisconsin company to build a plant off U.S. 127 that turns manure into organic fertilizer has stalled.
Terry Mescher, an agricultural engineer with the state of Ohio, reported the news during Saturday's meeting of the nonprofit Lake Improvement Association. [More]

HEBRON - Four local cross country teams and one individual from the Grand Lake area competed in the state cross country meet on Saturday at the National Trail Raceway in Hebron.
Both the Coldwater and Minster girls' teams arrived with hopes of winning the state championship after taking their respective regional titles the week before. After the runners had finished the course, they were among five teams who knew they were near the top of the standings. [More]

Adams stole money from school account, sold district property, forged documents
VAN WERT - A Van Wert City School teacher was ordered to pay more than $13,000 in restitution for stealing money from a school account, selling district property and forging financial documents.
FORT RECOVERY - Two American Battlefield Protection Program grants totaling $124,416 from the National Park Service are funding efforts to get Fort Recovery listed as a substantial location on the National Register of Historical Places.
Gayle Meyer, Chickasaw, received the nonprofit Lake Improvement Association's Guardian of the Lake award this year.
The award is given annually to recognize individuals who help with efforts on Grand Lake.
