Cheryl Ann Simms, 60, of St. Marys, OH died 11:44 p.m. Monday March 30, 2015 at Lima Memorial Health System, following a lengthy battle with breast cancer.

She was born November 29, 1954 in Toledo, OH to Elmer Logan and Rose Ellen (Thompson) Keith. On July 26, 1975 at Hillsdale Baptist Church in St. Marys, OH she married David Nicholas Simms, who survives.

David (Kelly) Simms of North Pole, AK, daughter Kristina (Chris) Smith of Venedocia, OH, grandchildren: Bradford, Alexander, and Catherine Simms, sister Irene (Ernie) Tuttle of Middletown, OH, sister Vivian June Keith of St. Marys, OH, aunt Martha Chaney of St. Marys, OH, "adoptive children" Herb (Lindsay) Chaney of St. Marys, OH, Lisa Roberts of St. Marys, OH, God-children: Amber Schrolucke of Chicago, IL, Heather Schrolucke of Lima, OH, Karrisa Lutz of Sioux Falls, SD, Christopher (Tara) Lutz of Convoy, OH, numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: parents Elmer and Rose Keith, brother Wayne Keith, brother Ronnie Reed, brother Donnie Reed, sister Verla Gellar, sister Donna Gossik, sister Marie Douglas.

She was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School (Class of 1973) and Lima Technical College – School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse, having retired from JTDM Hospital in St. Marys.

She was a member of Hillsdale Baptist Church in St. Marys. Her favorite pastimes included reading, playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren. She was fond of animals, especially cats.

Rites are scheduled to begin 3:00 p.m. Friday April 3, 2015 at Miller – Long & Folk Funeral Home (314 W. High Street Chapel) in St. Marys, with Pastor Garland Wilkerson, officiating. Private family burial will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.

Visitation 1 – 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home on High Street.
