John Reynolds
John Reynolds, 66, of Rockford (Chattanooga), OH, passed away on November 29, 2015 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Ft Wayne.
John was born in Fort Recovery, OH on November 27, 1949, to the late Lewis and Mary (Gross) Reynolds. On September 11, 1971, he married Cheryl V. Gilliland.
John was a graduate from Ft Recovery High School and was a member of the Chattanooga United Methodist Church. He had worked for Continental Tech/Tires (formerly Goodyear and Veyance) in St Marys, OH, for 25 years. He also worked for G.E. in Decatur for 17 years. He served as a Sergeant in the 25th Infantry of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict; serving a tour of 13 months from 1969-1970.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cheryl V. Reynolds of Rockford, OH; mother-in-law, Wanda L Gilliland, Rockford, OH; a son, Shawn J. (Linda) Reynolds, Noblesville, IN; a brother, Woodrow (Della) Reynolds of Ft Recovery, OH; 4 sisters, Lorene (Calvin) Huss of Geneva, Dorothy Watkins of Berne, Arlene (Everett) Moore of Ft Recovery, OH and Mary (Paul) Burry of Berne; 3 grandchildren, Anna, Noah and Elijah Reynolds; 3 sisters-in-law, Teresa (Mike) Steinke of Rockford, Karla (Steve) Braun of Decatur and Toni ( Scott) Lautzenheiser of Rockford; numerous nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by two brothers, Nolan and Jesse Reynolds; a sister, Judy Reynolds and his father-in-law Doyle Gilliland.
Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2015 also at the funeral home, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Rev. Tom Brunstrup will be officiating and burial will take place in the East Bethel Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by American Legion Post #43.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Chattanooga U.M.C
