James "Jamie" Prater, 26, of 809 Sycamore Street, Celina, Ohio, was found dead on Thursday, December 17, 2015, in Findlay, Ohio.

He was born June 13, 1989, in Coldwater, Ohio, to James Brown and Sonya Zizelman Prater.

He is survived by his mother, Sonya (Jeff Swygert) Prater of Saint Marys; his adoptive father, Eric (Erin Bruckelmeyer) Prater of Saint Marys. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Evie Hackworth of Findlay.

Also surviving are his siblings: Ashley Dennis; Shayla Prater; David Prater; Wyatt Smith; Brynna Prater, Lane Prater; Darian Swygert and Shelbly Swygert, all of Saint Marys. He is survived by his maternal grandparents, Rex and Zelda Zizelman of Celina; paternal grandparents, Denis and Thelma Fisher of Saint Marys. He is survived by his aunts and uncles, Terry Zizelman of Celina; Terry (Cari) Fisher of Saint Marys; Brandy (Andy) Opperman of Botkins; Patty Brunswick of Saint Marys; Rick Brown, Jr. of Minster.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Brown; paternal grandmother, Vickie Lynn Chilcoat-Jones; by an aunt, Serena Kennedy.

Jamie was a 2007 graduate of Celina High School. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing video games, and spending time with his many friends and family.

Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, where memorial gifts may be given to Ronald McDonald House.

Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys. Private family burial rites will be held.
