Julius Siefring
Julius J. Siefring, age 94 of New Weston, died Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
He was born on October 14, 1921 in New Weston, Ohio, to the late William & Caroline (Miller) Siefring. He married Marian Hein on April 22, 1950, in Chickasaw, and she died May 28, 2014.
He is survived by two children, Jerry 'Buck' & Fran Siefring of New Weston and Connie & Tom Everman of Burkettsville, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, thirteen step-great-grandchildren, sisters, Henrietta Will of Ft. Recovery and in-laws Roni & Art Hermiller of Coldwater, and Fred & Clara Jean Hein of Chickasaw.
He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Doris Siefring, brother and sisters, Florence & Anna Siefring, Anna & Silverous Homan, Leo & Tharsilla Siefring, Mark & Christine Siefring, Norbert & Roselinda Siefring and Morris Siefring, and in-laws, Viro Will, Leon & Rosie Hein, Leona & Wilfred Steinlage, Wilma & Elmer Bergman, and Kay Hein.
He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Burkettsville and the Ft. Recovery American Legion, and a Veteran of the Second World War. He drove a bus for 43 years for St. Henry Schools. He was one of the first communion distributors for St. Bernard Parish.
He loved going to Eldora Speedway to watch races, and driving to the farm to watch his Purple Martins. He also enjoyed driving around the block checking out his crops. He will be remembered as a great dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Thursday, January 28, 2016 at St. Bernard Church, Burkettsville. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 pm Wednesday and 9 to 9:45 am Thursday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
