Richard Lee Houser, age 71, of Van Wert, OH, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert, OH.

He was born April 3, 1945 in Celina, OH to the late Clarence and LaVon (Burden) Houser.

He is survived by four children, Christina Houser, Celina, OH, Richard (Kim) Houser Jr., Lewisville, OH, Mark (Nicole) Houser, Pittsburg, PA, and Jeremie Houser, St. Marys, OH; four sisters, Virginia Strukamp, Rockford, OH, Dorothy Goodwin, St. Marys, OH, Esther Houser, Celina, and Roberta Long, St. Marys, OH; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a special friend, Connie Heffner, Van Wert, OH.

Also preceded in death by four brothers, William, Jim, Larry, and Derryl Houser; and two sisters, Beatrice Houser, and Mary Roby.

Richard worked at the St. Marys Cotton Mill in St. Marys, Fishers Cheese Co. in Wapakoneta, Mersman Table Factory in Celina, and retired from Erb Lumber in Celina, OH after 15 plus years of service.

He was a members of Mercer County Sportsman Association, Celina, OH, and the NRA. He loved spending time with his family and friends and will be deeply missed by all.

Visitation hours will be from 1-5 pm on Sunday, February 12, 2017, in Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am on Monday, February 13, 2017, at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, with Rev. Randy Christian, officiating; where the family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Rockford, OH.
