James V. May, age 69, of Van Wert, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at 5:55 P.M. at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.

He was born February 13, 1948 in Celina, Ohio, to the late Victor S. and Dorothy F. (Wade) May.

Survivors include his companion, Peggy Matthews, Van Wert; two daughters, Rebecca May, Sidney, and Heather (May) Vickers, Nebraska; two sisters, Sharon (Joe) Mayes, Celina, and Betty (Sid) Showalter, Celina; and one grandchild.

Also preceded in death by a half-brother, Don Long.

Jim was a 1966 graduate of Celina Senior High School. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He worked at Huffy Bicycles in Celina for many years. He was a life Member of Celina VFW Post 5713.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 5–7:00 P.M., Monday, July 31, 2017, in the Cisco Funeral Home, Celina; where military honors will be provided at 7:00 P.M. by the Celina American Legion Post # 210 and Celina VFW Post # 5713.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date in North Grove Cemetery, Celina.
