Aided by a helicopter, a worker with AEP Ohio Transmission Company performs maintenance on a transmission line located north of St. Marys. The specially-equipped helicopter allows the line to remain energized while crews work. Nearly 18,000 spacers along more than 250 miles of line stretching to West Virginia will be replaced when the project is completed this fall, according to a company spokesperson.
