Sister Esther Ann Stammen
Our Lord called Sister M. Esther Ann Stammen, 90, to her eternal reward on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. Sister Esther Ann died peacefully at Our Lady of Angels Convent in Mishawaka, Ind., at 11:30 a.m. in the presence of her sisters and her nieces.
Sister Esther Ann was the youngest of four children born to Albert and Rose (Brunswick) Stammen in Sharpsburg, Ohio, on Nov. 17, 1927. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Melvin and Werner, and her sister Irene Broering. Also sisters-in-law Rita and Norma Stammen and brother-in-law Clarence Broering.
At the age of 60, Esther entered the Franciscan Sisters of Christ, the Divine Teacher in Davenport, IA, on August 15, 1987. After professing vows in 1993, she was a homemaker in several convents. Sr. Esther Ann joined the St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration Convent in 1999. She loved serving the Lord and now rejoices for all eternity in the presence of the Lord.
The funeral Mass for Sr. Esther Ann will be on Sat. Dec 9, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. At the convent Chapel. Burial will follow in the convent cemetery.
