Snow showers associated with an arctic front are moving through this morning, providing a quick accumulation of snowfall. With wind gusts between 30 and 40 mph, the snow showers combined with blowing snow are reducing visibility and creating challenging travel conditions. These conditions are most impactful on roads that are more rural and are aligned from north to south. Even after the snow ends, elevated winds will continue to blow snow into the early afternoon.
Use caution and allow for extra time to reach your destination.

An Arctic front will sweep east across the region between 5 AM and 9 AM. A few hours of snow showers and west wind gusts of 35 to 40 mph will occur with the frontal passage. While any accumulations will generally be a half inch or less, some challenging travel conditions may develop given, rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities, strong wind and cold temperatures. These conditions will impact the morning commute. Use caution and allow for extra time to reach your destination.

* WHERE...Portions of east central Indiana and central and west central Ohio.
* WHEN...From 7 AM this morning to 10 AM EST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

Emily Burnell
Emily N. Burnell, 35, of New Bremen, died at 4:31 A.M. on February 26, 2018 at the Auglaize County Group Home, in Wapakoneta, following a brief illness.
She was born on April 4, 1982 to the late Alice (Harlow) Burnell who died on September 13, 2005, and Dennis Burnell who survives in New Bremen, along with his wife Susan (Annen-Ritter) Burnell.
Also surviving are Emily's siblings Molly (Jay) Schwartz of St. Henry, Nathan (Sarah) Burnell of Charleston, SC, and Amy (Tom) Wilker of New Bremen, her nephew and nieces; JJ Schwartz, Allison, Grace, Lilly, Libby, and Lexi Wilker.
Emily attended the ABC Center in New Bremen since she was two years old. As she grew older, she began spending time at Auglaize Industries, where she enjoyed the camaraderie of her fellow peers for nearly 20 years.
She played baseball with the Little Sluggers Baseball Team, and enjoyed the OSU Buckeyes. She loved music, she enjoyed the various outings with Auglaize Industries, taking pontoon rides on the lake, and spending time with her nephew and nieces. She was known for her sweet tooth, especially her love of ice cream.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at the St. Peter's Church in New Bremen with Pastor Steve Bloomfield and Pastor Ed Rinehart officiating. Inurnment will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery of New Bremen.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018, from 2:00 until 6:00 P.M. at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen, and one hour prior to the services on Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Emily can be made to Auglaize Industries.
